Virtual CFO & Strategic Finance

CFO-level financial planning, reporting and decision support for MSMEs that need stronger financial control without appointing a full-time CFO.

From financial data to management decisions.

Growing businesses often have accounting information but still lack timely answers to the questions that affect cash flow, profitability and business decisions. Management may know that the business is profitable without having a clear view of where the profit is invested, why cash remains tight or which customers, products or locations are creating value.

Our Virtual CFO service converts financial data into structured management information, forecasts and action plans. The scope may include weekly, fortnightly or monthly MIS, budgeting, cash-flow planning, working-capital control, profitability analysis, financial controls and periodic CFO-level review with promoters and management.

Our Virtual CFO Approach

The engagement is designed around the information management actually needs rather than a standard reporting template.

01

Understand the Business Drivers

Reporting is aligned to the business model, operating cycle, margins and management priorities.

02

Build Reliable Management Information

Accounting and operational information is organised into reports that can be reviewed consistently.

03

Convert Analysis into Action

Observations are linked to practical actions, responsibilities and timelines.

04

Review and Adapt

Budgets, forecasts and dashboards are updated as the business and its priorities change.

How the Virtual CFO Engagement Works

1

Financial Diagnostic

We review the present accounting information, reporting process, cash-flow position and management requirements.

2

Reporting Framework

We agree the MIS, KPIs, forecast format, review frequency and information responsibilities.

3

Periodic Review

Financial information is analysed and discussed with promoters or management at the agreed intervals.

4

Action Monitoring

Agreed actions are tracked and the reporting framework is refined as the business develops.

Questions we hear most often.

Is a Virtual CFO the same as an accountant?

No. Accounting records transactions and prepares financial information. Virtual CFO support uses that information for management reporting, forecasting, cash-flow control and financial decision-making.

Can the service work with our existing accounts team?

Yes. The engagement can work alongside the existing accounts team, accountant, ERP provider and statutory auditor. Responsibilities are defined at the beginning.

Will the service help us understand why profit is not visible in cash?

Yes. The analysis may examine receivables, inventory, loan repayments, capital expenditure, drawings, advances and other uses of funds that explain the difference between accounting profit and available cash.

Is this a monthly service?

It is usually most effective as a periodic retainer, but selected budgeting, financial modelling or diagnostic assignments may also be undertaken separately.

Does the Virtual CFO arrange loans?

The service can assess funding requirements and prepare financial information. Any lender decision remains subject to the lender's own appraisal and approval process.

Important Information

The scope, frequency and deliverables of Virtual CFO services depend upon the agreed engagement and the quality and timeliness of information made available. The service does not replace statutory audit, legal advice or management's responsibility for business decisions.
